7-year-old me sitting in my dad's S2000, Matchbox Twenty playing on the radio, driving past a Toyota dealership with a giant banner that read "Check out the new Scions!".
"What's a 'skee-on'?", I asked myself. Good times, good times. Gosh, I miss that S2000.
The 2 models Scion had for sale in 2003: xA, xB

To 7-year-old me, this thing looked like a spaceship, "the car of the future", or something.

As an owner of a 2003 s2000, and as someone who was 7 that year, this post speaks to me

Ok, I'll admit it... I have a secret obsession with first gen Scion xB's.
They look great while slammed. They're surprisingly practical. They get decent gas mileage and (when not slammed) actually drive pretty nice. They use Toyota's ambiguous 4 cylinder, that somehow never dies, and they're actually really roomy inside.

As a member of the 7 year old in 2003 club, I now feel young.

Sweet Jesus. You all are CHILDREN. I was four times your age in 2003. GET OFF MY LAWN!

I feel younger than I want to right now. The 2000's were definitely the best of times and the worst of times. Best because no responsibilities and worst because they kinda sucked as a decade. 2003 was the year my father traded in an old V6 5MT Accord for a Sebring... Yuck

On one hand I'm gladdened that today's youth are still involved in cars ... but on the other hand, I'm sad that I'm officially an old fogie.
At least I have an S2000, that makes up for a lot.
